Shard Development

Case study

Shard Development

A new studio needs a website that does two jobs: show what it can do, and make it easy to get in touch. This is the first project in the portfolio — Shard Development's own site.

The brief

Shard Development needed a website that reflected its brand — calm, precise, and a little mysterious — while staying welcoming to business owners who just want a site that works. The goal was simple: explain the services clearly and turn visitors into quote requests.

The approach

Every page was built to load fast, read easily, and work on any screen. The brand's colors, fonts, and spacing were built into the foundation, so every page stays consistent. Accessibility wasn't an afterthought: contrast was checked against the brand guide, and every link and button works with a keyboard.

What was built

  • A homepage that explains the studio in seconds
  • Three service pages: development, redesign, and maintenance
  • Navigation that adapts to phones
  • A clear path to request a quote from every page
  • A design system built on the brand's own colors and type

The details

  • One gold action per screen, so the next step is always obvious
  • Comfortable line lengths for easy reading
  • Visible focus outlines for keyboard users
  • Headings structured for screen readers and search engines
